Para Teqis celebrated the Hungarian Parasport Day

Para Teqis

Although the official opening began at 9 a.m., the more diligent were already preparing for the presentations. In addition to the well-known parasport sports - sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair fencing - the latest version of teqball (a Hungarian invention that has made its world career almost immediately since its introduction on October 18, 2016), para teqis. The event also had the opportunity to try para teqpong and para teqvoly on the Teq table.

At the opening, the 15-20-person classes of several schools in Kőbánya and the occasional sitting volleyball team organized from the staff of the Kocsis Sándor Sports Center were lined up. The shows and joint games were already in full swing when the FTC women's football team and Zsombor Piros, junior tennis player, adult Hungarian champion, U18 European champion, Australian Open junior champion and Roland Garros junior champion in doubles in 2017 arrived from the training.

Ferenc Csuri presented the para teqsports in his speech:

“Along with parasports, nine sports can be played on the table. We now present parasports, and here the biggest attraction is that an athlete with disability and a non-disabled athlete play together in a team.

This form of play gives a special experience to athletes, mainly because the possibility of deterioration is not only possible with an athlete with disability, there is a high degree of interdependence. In teqpong elements of wheelchair table tennis, in teqis elements of wheelchair tennis, and in teqvoly elements of sitting volleyball are mixed together with the necessary rule changes, ”Ferenc Csuri described the uniqueness of the sports.

Zsombor Piros arrived a few minutes after ten o'clock, and of course the joint photo with the para teqis players and István Nagy could not be missed. Zsombor had no problem with the serves, in fact, he received the edge balls with excellent reflex, but had troubles with the passing. Because normal tennis is quite different even in doubles, as you have to hit the ball on the slag (or grass) on the other side of the net to score points, either on the fly or on the other side of the net. Here, the companion must be served, and if necessary, his pass or rescue must be sent to the opponent's half of the court according to the rules, thus gaining points. However, it should be honestly noted that Zsombor's game picked up the rhythm of teqis in a matter of moments, and it was a pleasure to watch the tennis player's touches and serves.
