Balatonfüred 2020 Teqis Challenger Cup

Teqis

Teqis is becoming more and more popular among professional tennis players: Gergely Madarász, who recently defeated Márton Fucsovics, Adrienn Nagy, the winner of the Australian Open, as well as members of the Hungarian Fed Cup team, Dalma Gálfi, and Anna Bondár.

Following the Beach Teqis Cup in Budapest, the next summer teqis tournament was held in Balatonfüred, where the organizers had to close the application before the deadline because of a full house, as the number of entries reached a maximum of 40 people. In the tournament with total prize money of 620,000 HUF, a new reward system was introduced, according to which the players received cash after each match they won, which resulted in sharper and even more exciting clashes.

"I had a great time, this was my first teqis tournament. Overall, it was a well-organized tournament with a great atmosphere, which is not always the case at tennis events, so I hope to be able to compete in more such competitions in the future" said Adrienn Nagy, Australian Open Junior Doubles Champion.

"I really enjoyed the game. It’s different than tennis, so anyone can be good at it, you don’t have to be a tennis player. I think it can be a very good game for amateurs, and as the sport evolves the players will be also better and better. However, as it is very spectacular, every match can be interesting for the spectators" - Dalma Gálfi, US Open junior and Wimbledon junior doubles champion.

The next summer competition will be held on the 8th of August in Budapest at the 383 Teqsports Beach Center on Margaret Island, where 620,000 HUF prize money will also be distributed.
